Editorial Board
Katharine Doob Sakenfeld, General Editor, is the
William Albright Eisenberger Professor of Old Testament Literature and Exegesis at
Princeton Theological Seminary. Professor Sakenfeld is also the 2007 President of the
Society of Biblical Literature, which includes more than 6,000 biblical scholars.
Samuel E. Balentine, Old Testament Editor, is
Professor of Old Testament at Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School of
Christian Education in Virginia. He is the Old Testament general editor of the
Smyth and Helwys Bible Commentary series, and is also co-editor of the journal,
Interpretation.
Kah-Jin Jeffrey Kuan, Old Testament Editor, is
Associate Professor of Old Testament at the Pacific School of Religion. He served on the
editorial board of the Journal of Biblical Literature. His specialties include
the Israelite history of the monarchical period and Asian American biblical interpretation.
Eileen Schuller, Old Testament and Judaica Editor,
is Professor of Religious Studies at McMaster University, with a special focus on the
Dead Sea Scrolls, Apocrypha, and Pseudepigrapha. She is associate editor of the
two-volume Encyclopedia of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Brian K. Blount, New Testament Editor,
is the President of Union Theological Seminary and Presbyterian School
of Christian Education in Richmond, Virginia. He is also General Editor
of the African American Commentary on the New Testament. His specialties
include cultural interpretation and New Testament ethics.
Pheme Perkins, New Testament Editor, is Professor of
New Testament in the Theology Department at Boston College. She is also co-editor of the
Abingdon New Testament Commentary series. She is associate editor of the New Oxford
Annotated Bible, 3rd edition; co-editor of the HarperCollins Bible Dictionary
, and served on the editorial board of Catholic Biblical Quarterly. One of
her specialties is Gnosticism and the New Testament.
Joel B. Green, New Testament Editor, is Professor of
New Testament Interpretation at Fuller Theological Seminary. He is editor of the
Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels, The Two Horizons Commentary Series,
Studies in Theological Interpretation, and he served on the editorial boards of
The Journal of Theological Interpretation, the journal, Science Theology,
and the journal, Science and Christian Belief.
John F. Kutsko is Director of Acquisitions (Books, Bibles,
and Media) for Abingdon Press. He earned his Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible from Harvard University.
He was an associate editor for the Anchor Bible Dictionary, contributing editor for the SBL
Handbook of Style, and author of Between Heaven and Earth: Divine Presence and Absence in the Book of Ezekiel.

Marianne Blickenstaff is Lead Reference Editor
at Abingdon Press and project Manager for the NIDB. She earned her Ph.D. in New
Testament from Vanderbuilt
University and was assistant editor of the Feminist Companion to the New Testament series
(Sheffield Academic Press and Continuum).
